Friends of the Ithaca Youth Bureau Raises $5,300 Through Silent Auction
Generous Community Donations and Auction Participation Make Unique Event a Success
Ithaca, NY – The first silent auction sponsored by the Friends of the Ithaca Youth Bureau (FIYB) raised nearly $5,300 to support youth programs in the Ithaca area.
The silent auction, which was held online, exceeded the FIYB’s fundraising goal. Items auctioned included products and services from local merchants and artists, as well as luxury goods and unique experiences. Several auction participants also purchased scholarships for children to attend Youth Bureau camps this summer.
“We are elated over the great success of the silent auction and have plans to make this a recurring fundraiser,” said FIYB board chair Jeff Love. “The generosity displayed by both the business owners who donated items and the community members who took part in the auction is tremendously encouraging.”
Proceeds from the auction will help the Friends sponsor Youth Bureau programs like the College Discovery Program, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Recreation Support Services, among others.
The Friends of the Ithaca Youth Bureau is a 501c(3) not-for-profit organization with the mission of raising community awareness of and building financial support for the services and programs of the Ithaca Youth Bureau.
